Picton, South Island

We waved a fond farewell to the North Island from the early morning ferry across the Cook Straight, sailing through the dramatic fjord-like scenery into the quaint town of Picton on the South Island.
Wasting no time, we booked ourselves onto a brilliant sea-kayaking tour of the peaceful bays and islands, teaming with wildlife and native bush. The view from the crystal clear waters made for great box red jellyfish and sting ray spotting (flying right underneath the kayak). A really serene way to spend the day...and very good for the biceps!
